do you also have a mouse hooked up at the same time? could you maybe be bumping the mouse at the same time?
do you have the tablet set to pen mode or mouse mode?
do you have the tablet set to correspond to the entire screen or just portion of it?
in short, check yo settings.

I been having a bunch of trouble with the new wacom tablets. First one would just totally freeze up for no reason, then works again, then freezes again.. I returned that one, then the next one has the exact problem that you are having, called up wacom, they say that its a problem with the pen, so returned it again. Pretty disapointing.

yeah, if you have another input device hooked up at the same time it can cause problems. i'd just try unplugging the other device to see if that fixes the problem, then go from there.

also try tapping the eraser onto the tablet...for some reason that kinda resets the pen. at least sometimes it does.

I've had exactly the same problem (no mouse attached) and it is now sitting in my cupboard after getting about 1 weeks use out if it. What the fuck's wrong with it?

i had a wacom at work and absolutely loved it. if i could afford $300 for the same one at home i would definately do it.
