Is there anyway I can incorporate the stoke of a shape into the main path of an object? I have some really thin type that I have outlined and then put a thin stoke on it in order to beef it up just a bit. I want to now make a new path that brings in that path. Any thoughts on how I can do this?
I've played with offset paths but they don't retain smooth lines.

errr, outline stroke?

just a thought: ctrl+c , ctrl+b , ctrl+x , ctrl+f , ctrl+v , and then do this a little bit smaller.

outline the stroke (object>path>outline stroke): select both objects (oulined stroke and outlined type), ungroup them, go to pathfinder, expand.

yes, yes and yes. Thanks all for the quick response. Outline stroke is now commited to memory.
