Flash Drawing Animation Thingy?

I have been seeing this one effect everywhere lately. It looks like a pencil is drawing an image out, tracing the outlines of an image... you guys have seen it, right? Anyway, I can't figure out how to do this and I am having trouble looking it up. I assume people are doing it in Flash. Any advice?

in this old version of my portfolio i outlined the text to introduce each main section in flash using a shitload of masks (i.e. "internet", etc.). maybe that's what you mean?
