hi kids. I'm looking for a kick ass laptop. All the one's i've looked at all seem to have something fundamentaly crap about them. What would you lot recomend for a 15" panal laptop? a PC one that is. Cheers for any help.

Just mention you need a 'house and garden' laptop then.
That IBM rocks them all.

I have been "researching" that topic for some weeks almost until I came to pick 2 laptops that were leading my list. I must add, that for me a high screen resolution was very important.
The 2 candidates are:Samsung P35
Centrino 1.8 GHz
1024 DDR- RAM
80 GB
15" (1.400 x 1.050)
128 MB Radeon 9700
~around 2800 €And the other one surprisingly :
ASUS (M6800N)M6886NELP
Centrino 2.0 GHz
512 MB DDR333 RAM
80 GB
15.1" 1400 x 1050Both are pretty light, and have good battery-capacities, look stylish and would please me :)
64 ATI Radeon 9700
~around 2100 €

Sorry, should have mentioned. When going for the IBM Thinkpad, go at least for this configuration.

The solid case and harddisk block when hitting the floor (or anything else) is well worth the extra 200-300.

Bloody hell, man - does no-one ever use the fricking SEARCH tool?!
This topic has been brought up at least twice in the past week and a half! Search the PVN for 'Savrow'.

abizzyman got a sager laptop that is the cat's behind... maybe ask him?
- Nairn0
Ok. Don't search for Savrow, nothing comes up (fricking useless search facility)
If you're after a sweet 15" Laptop, check out http://www.savrow.com . They're a wee bit expensive, but well-laid out, packed with features, sleek and neat.
I'm hoping to go look at one tomorrow...

thanks for all those tips kids, will research them tonight, but i was thinking of going for that very same ASUS one of you kats already mentioned, so that makes me feel real good on the inside. Gotta be honest here, it looks sweet as well as walks sweet. Which is sweet

Yeah the ASUS is a really good deal, especially mentionable is 6.5 hours battery capacity (which should result in at least 4 REAL hours) and 2.6 kilo weight is also pretty good.
It sure looks stylish.

OK. So Savrow in the UK don't have the laptop I want - but Asus do the same model under their brand - where the hell can I buy one of these in the UK?
