So much for a happy friday.
On a related issue, I believe that this, or something similar, will inevitably happen here in the US. With so many people getting flu vaccinations the viruses are mutating and evolving, more rapidly than normal (we've all seen some scifi based on this, right?). This is happening with numerous viruses.
It's a no win situation down the road as big drug co's continue to promote unnecessary vaccinations ($$$ billions and billions).With our immune systems weakened by continual antibiotics, we become even more exposed.
Scarry, but it's really only a matter of time before something breaks out.Personally, I've never had a vaccination (yup, never) and never plan to.

so, let me get this straight. we will all die soon from one of the following:
bird flu
terrorism
falling asteroids
earthquake (i live on the west coast of NA)
flooding from global warming
volcanes
oh, the fungus out here that usually is only found in new zealand that's already killed one person
iran not stopping the development of nuclear materials
smoking
shootings
fatty dietok, i'm feeling good. oh wait, i forgot about killer bees, killer mosquitos, aids and all the other diseases of the world, war, cancer, hhmmm... sounds like the earth is tired of us being here.

No, I am not saying I am safe by any means, my point was that the continual over use of vaccinations (to make money, similar to selling 'anit bacterial' soaps - all marketing) and antibiotics will take it's toll, eventually.
There are needs for vaccinations and antibiotics, of course, but that all gets blurred by the power of the almighting dollar.
