...not to get a job because they don't seem to like you as a person,
or because they can't stand your work?

work.

that's a tough one-- in theory "A", yet I'd probably take more offense at "B". That means I have a fucked up value system

I'd say work... if thats as good as you are... your done.

Depends what said people were like themselves. I'd probably take more offense if it was me that they didn't like. It's easy for someone not to like your work since it's a very subjective thing.

most people like me and i like most people so if they didn't like me they're obviously fucked up idiots and I hate them all!
i hate them so hard.

depends on whether it's arrogant or not. i'd take more offense if they didn't like me.. could give 2 shits about my work in life.. it's only web design for me, not curin' cancer

it's worse if they don't want to pay you shit for the work you do, shitty or not.
- gruntt0
the worst would be if they said "we hate you as a person and your horrible personality is reflected in your work - now get the fuck out"
=P

as a person

a little from column A and a little from column B

interesting. I currently work for a group as a contractor and I know they hate me, but they are limited in terms of their knowledge and know they can't get rid of me. I give them sh*t about their process on a daily basis and it embarasses them as project managers. pathetic actually. :)

A is definitely worse.
but in terms of a career if your work is good enough someone is going to hire you no matter how huge an arse hole you are.
