FANTASTIC, truly fantastic, the voice, the voice...
incredible....
started with hoist that rag, which was very orange,
superb lighting and yes, he got the megaphone out
does anyone have the setlist??
- karlo0
I do not have the set list but would like it!
I have never heard of Tom Waits but I went along anyway!
FUCK ME - how good was that?!?!?!
I was 10 rows from the front - SAT NEXT TO DAVID GREY!!!!!
Thom York was in front of me
Jerry Hall was behind me
Fat Boy Slim and Zoe Ball were 4 rows in front of me and I walked out of the place with Will Champion and Guy Berryman from Coldplay!!
The spare ticket in the end went for £225
YES Karlo!
God Bless Tom Waits

he had both his boys there playing too.
one of his boys 19 yrs old was on percussion and did you see his youngest boy on the bongo for a couple of the songs??
11 years old and playing for tom waits' band!!!!!! - is pretty cool if you ask me [ even if he is your dad]
- blindpilot0
ooh ... ooh ...
and how cool were the silhouettes and backdrop colours??
... ok ... i'll try to stop going on about it
my wife got a bit cross with me last night when i woke her up at 1am to tell her all about it
- blindpilot0
karlo,
if you haven't heard 'dead and lovely', off his new album too, then have a listen to that
it'll break your heart
- karlo0
Downloading now!
What is his best album??
I need to buy a few of his albums - preferably the stuff I heard last night??
I like the piano stuff he did at the end!
Just a few mind! - dont go fucking crazy and reel a load off as its nearly Christmas and I cant afford it!
Cheers
- blindpilot0
his new one, which ihe played a lot of tracks from is 'real gone'
other good ones are:
heart of saturday night
heartattack and vine
bone machine
small change
swordfishtrombone
mule variationsi could go on and on. basically if you fancy the slower, more melodic piano stuff, go early, the early years volumes are a kind of best of and contain some great stuff.
the later stuff has him with a gruffer voice and more radical percussion, in fact the most recent album has no piano at all.
there is also a live album which is great - i mean really great - 'nighthawks at the diner'
it doesn't really matter which you get as they are all good.
