Working with a really old G4 tower. after installing 10.3.6 it won't complete the startup process. it keeps restarting itself in some sort of cycle. anyone else have this problem? and how to fix it?

download the 10.3.6 Combo update from Apple and try reinstalling with that, rather than letting software update bump you from 10.3.5-10.3.6
i had read something on Apple discussions regarding this a couple weeks ago.
or if you haven't already, search their database.. amazing the info you'll find in there.

can you boot holding the option key down, or to a cd?

fuck... maybe it is 10.3.6
my powerbook just ate shit AGAIN! i just got the fucker back up too.
if you can... connect to another Mac via fire wire. Start up your busted one and hold down "t" to connect as an external HD.
after that.... back all your shit up pronto.

ok so if i connect the 2 computers by firewire, couldn't i just copy the relevant files from one mac to the busted one's system folder? if so which exact files would i need from the working mac's 10.3.5 OS?
