Hey all, I'm getting married in March next year and I was wondering if you guys or gals had any sweet ideas for wedding invites that you've either seen or done. I'm really bored with invite material and was wanting to do my own but differently.
just looking for a bit of inspiration to spark me off into good ideas mode.

Janne Janne Janne, I think we meant interesting ones. not suburban style.

yeah I wouldn't mind some email action there... that'd be great :) I won't make it public.
oh yeah... this book : http://www.enotalone.com/books/2… is one of my favourites for ideas. I haven't got it but that's why the bookshop sees me so often ;)
they have sweet stuff in there but I'm not sure that I can afford to make them.

I remember when I was going to 'design' my own. What a pain in the ass. I opted for some one else to do it.
Save yourself a headache and just pay to have them done.

I just got married. For the invitations we bought 100 chinese takeaway boxes filled them with jelly beans and put a simple printed invitation in the middle, finished off with a ribbon to keep the box closed. Only pain was they all had to be hand delivered.
I since have found :

sweet idea with the chinese takeaway boxes. my fiance is half south american/english (ooooh what a mix) she loves dragonflies and her ring is a filligree vine with a diamond... hmm maybe we should release dragonflies into people's houses with invitations attached to their thorax?
could be a "fun" way of getting an invite.

Or use some vine wound together with the invite attached?

or that.
interesting. that's good.

no...
go with the dragon fly idea.

Don't get me wrong. The dragonflies idea is hot!
Making invites by hand is very time consuming, it's not always the time it take to make one x number of guests. As i found out the hard way!

i'm in the same boat. We are going to get married in Mexico so we are going to do a message in the bottole thing and a theamed website, etc.
Good luck with your idea.. would love to see it once it's done

Crane's ( http://www.crane.com/ ) is the only supplier of paper to the US mint...they make a cotton paper that's pretty similar to money in texture.
I thought it would be kinda cheesy but kinda fun if you printed your own money/wedding invite.
Make it like a dollar bill on one side with a double portrait of the couple and all the info on the back.
Would be kinda pricey tho.

awesome links. I'm working on looking into all of those :D
(although I'm at work at the moment so I can't really look closer.)
