Dear E-family,
i'm making a DVD at the moment using just jpegs, the dvd works fine, but when viewed on tv the images are cut and i can't see the whole image; i made them in photoshop using the standard resolution at 720 x 576, is this correct? why can't i see the whole image, is this resolution too big? do i have to shrink the image a bit to make it fit?
please help anyone,
thanks in advance.

720 x 540

Rand, is that the image size or the whole screen size?

there's a motion safe and a title safe area within that (you can probably download it form a duplication house or elsewhere)

Are you working to PAL or NTSC...
dependng on what tv you are playing it on you will get cut-off any way

PAL.

work on 768 * 576 and when you play it out for your dvd squish it to 720*576. As tellys have oblong pixels and not square pixels (does your stuff look fat?)
Make sure you keep everything within title and action safe

might differ from tv-set to tv-set.

Photoshop has presets for the correct NTSC or PAL file size, with guides already in for title and action safe.
