To suck at AS

is really frustrating.
Will i ever learn?

Macromedia puts out some great books to learn ActionScript. Just go step-by-step through the lessons in your freetime - you'll increase you market worth within a month if you stick to it.

but i don't think i have a brain for math.
is that weird?
i was never good at it.
is it really bad that i am ok at design/concepts but suck at code (esp. math-related)?
i have tried to learn it thoroughly a few times but it always made my head explode!

i suck at math too man... somehow i'm able to do in flash what i need/want to do... not much more at the moment, but enough to get my projects done pretty well. (and it's probably always the long way around something for me)

I dont really consider AS like math, more like a puzzle - or a game where you have to find the best solution to a design problem.

i hear you jpea, all my flash work has been work around after work around just to get what i want done. I've tried AS For Dummies, but couldn't even get that down.
I do wanna try the O'Reilly AS book. I'm so tired of taking the long way around.

yeah, the LONG way around
some thread that unfit helped someone on this morning caught my attention and it's gonna help me condense a project that i wanna simplify... my way works, but it's like 50 lines of damn code that i didn't know a shorter way to do

Colin Moock's Definitive Guide and AS2.0 are all that you need. In this order.
Read some each night, don't skip any section until you understand.
Forums/newsgorups are your best friend in the beginning [use Macromedia's - kirupa's are also helpfull]In every learning process there is a tipping point, a day that you grasp the 'meaning'. Not that you'll understand everything by then, but your learning ratio will increase exponentially, using and understanding new procedures/code/methods almost as the same time.
I'll be waiting.
