I never trusted these polls, and this confirms why.

True. New Zealand should be No.1.
we get bonus points for a no-show in Iraq ;-)

what a load of tripe.
What is it with standard of living polls that makes the boring countries rise to the top. My sister lives in Geneva and has lived in Dublin and they are both as boring as hell. Norway!!! Nothing there (NZ, Canada too)
Fuck em all, give me deep down and dirty anytime.

Spend a winter in the south of ireland then get back to me on your stupid poll.
I'd rather beaches, breasts and beer over a happy family life anyday

australia would be no 1 if it wasn't for all spiders and medievel housing.

I spent a summer in Ireland and I can't agree more with that poll
- toe-knee0
spend a winter there, its hell! I love my country but i spent 21 winters too many there. you turn into a fat, alcoholic vampire
- ewo0
I couldn't find any fat people when I was there! Maybe it's just the West coast...but that doesn't make sense
- kezza_20
Its because they cant afford to eat.

haha, theres no protein in spuds

I would think that 10 Guinnesses a day would lend themselves more to a populace's bellies....but alas

ah tony, things have changed since you left. to long to explain how or why
but I don't really agree with the polls as it doesn't take account of so many things like wealth inequity etc.

The weather hasnt changed though. Im one of those freaks whos mood changes with the seasons. Winter is just too long over there.
I left in 2000 so it cant have changed that much, has it? was back there august 2003 aswell, seemed the same 'cept for a few more new bars and a china town. How has it changed.. interested to know. My brother is moving back there in april
- lowimpakt0
I was being a bit sarcastic. The weather is the same. Yes our GDP is through the roof (poor indication due to the amount of foreign owned businesses), the degree of income inequity and relative poverty is still bad (everyone has more money but if you still can't afford to buy shit your extra wealth is useless), the price of houses is insane (unless your brother is loaded he can forget about it), we have one of the worst records re. the environment and meeting EU directives etc, dublin has sprawled and people are commuting stupid hours to work etc. traffic is shit, etc etc etc
but there is plenty of good shit re. music, design/art etc.
I could go on but got stuff to do
and Im probably moving to london anyway. :)

-------------------------------there'll be no circles mate, backwards and forwards maybe. The lines aren't even linked up yet. That'll be another few years.
