opps.. i mean they have never aired hostages being killed... check it.

I used to watch Al Jazeera (English version) when I lived in Cairo for three months. It was very biased at the time, however, I cannot judge it now. Maybe they changed their turn. With that said, CNN (Arabic version) is pushing for free on all channels. Same goes for all over Africa, etc. CNN is free to the people on normal cheap-ass public TV.

so they don't air the hostage footage out of respect for the families but will air dead american soldiers with no problem
i guess none of the soldiers have families eh?!?
- tymeframe0
yeah, they wait until after the executing, then air bodies. very fuct up.

Kona- I would never try to justify... they have an explicit stance to only air war footage. They feel hostage death does not fall under that umbrella. Yes, they are biased, but as I stated before, not as biased as most network news.

Well, I see a lot of dead Iraqis [men, women and children] in the news, recently.
I suppose they all have [had] families too.

I personally think that if they did air the footage it would only feed the extremists.

one reporter embedded last night said that he saw only dead insurgents in fallujah... no prisoners only dead. He was not surprised by the marine shooting, only that it was actually cuaght on tape.

so, are they just a mirror of CNN?
I saw in Control Room the US getting pist that Al Jazeera was airing POWs. Doesn't CNN do the same thing? Maybe not to the extent of Al Jazeera, but it's still there.

I have the CNN, BBC and English AJ sites bookmarked. It's interesting to check the news each day by sifting all three. Seeing what they choose to report on and how the tone varies. To me it seems as if CNN is the most slanted.

the airing of dead americans thing is such a crock! In that case no dead bodies should get shown at all...
There is a saying in network news... if it bleeds, it leads!
- k0na_an0k0
yeah. that marine thing is fucked. the day before (or so i heard on the news) 3 of his buddies were blown up while trying to do the right thing and clean up the dead insurgent bodies. well, the insurgents are not booby trapping the bodies with bombs. as they moved a body it blew up and took their lives.
so i hear this guy saw a body move and didn't know if he had a bomb or grenade or what so he shot him. i would have done the same. sorry.
anywho...

hahha Dutchie, if that's the case I am one regular 'moederneuker' and the majority of people in this thread should just 'houd je rotsmoel '!
;)

if I was in Iraq I would shoot anything that moved.
- fadeproof0
thats why AJ airs terrorist transcripts and 'call of jihad' rhetoric AS SOON as these primitive peoples drop off the gruesome hate-monger tapes at their friendly neighborhood AJ stations - open your eyes people! AJ is only there to slander the West
and boost the movement of Jihad. period.

I am curious to know how any of you would know what news source was slanted and which ones weren't since none of you are in Iraq.
