saw them last year, very disappointed...poor stage presence and poor sound quality...hopefully it was an off night....

Blimey, cant imagine them having poor stage presence, the sound is such a wall youd imagine it blowing you backwards. hopefully an off night.

they're rubbish, don't go. i'll buy your ticket off you, just as a favour like, you know.

They're not good live. I've heard from many people who saw them on the Curioso tour.

Right, well only time will tell now. Seem to have a pretty big following from a quick look round the net.

I saw them last year also, and they were good but nothing special. they looked kind of tired, but it sounded tight. They were definitely out-staged by The Mercury Program who were incredible.

I like their recordings...just unfortunate they dress like tards and sound mangled live.

Its a shame, but everybodys right. I saw them in Austin(which was ok) then in Dallas-Curiosa(not so good). If I lived in England I'd go see the Pink G.R.Ease, they'll make you sweat. Or maybe the Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster.

I saw them last year at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and they rocked!!!! It was a small venue - maybe it makes a difference?!
but I really enjoyed them and I would see them again.

I've seen them 2 times in the past few years - Once just after the first album was released in a club with only about 300 people - which was fun, but they seemed kinda stiff (more than you'd expect.) Then i saw them a few weeks ago in phoenix at a sold out theatre show - and they had the lights, fog, and attitude of a band that toured for the past 3 years. I loved it, the sound was great, the songs were great. I'm not sure what others here expect after hearing the records - they aren't really "high energy" but plenty dancable - i will say - i've never in all my many years been to a show that had more women in attendance

Sounds 50-50 then, well roll on saturday and lets see. Always an intrest to see whether someone lives up to it or not. Dont go and see bands for what they dress like.

I saw them a few weeks ago. They were very good live. I was lucky enough to meet someone at the show who was hosting an afterparty. Interpol and Secret Machines showed up. I talked to them for a while, they were pretty cool guys.
- Mimio0
I just mentioned their 'look' because it's very contrived.
- jackfoley0
True but who really has an original "look". I think their look may be mostly for show. At the after party I went to that they were at, their lead singer had on jeans, a hooded sweatshirt, and a baseball cap. Everyone else was still dressed the part, but still, very different from the image they portray on stage, music videos, magazines, etc.

British Sea Power have the only look worth emulating. they are classic live. Not that i walk aorund in british military uniforms or dressed as a giant bear. ;D
- Mimio0
My point is...the music should come first... come out with polished music not shoes.
- jackfoley0
Well I enjoy their music.

I think they're good, just in utero. They seemed to cheerish their weaker songs like jewels too, which makes me think they don't have things worked out just yet.
- tny0
they do it becuase its fun
- gradiate0
Or the weaker songs in your eyes are the ones they liike? its their art after all. Just putting a point across.
