new to indesign and I am wondering how or if it is possible to manually kern type or if I should be doing that work in illustrator and importing?

i personally don't use indesign (not for any particular reason, i just don't have it yet) but I can only assume that you can manually kern. Afterall it is a page layout program.
not trying to be a smart ass, really.
look around, it's in there somewhere.

i wouldnt manually do it.. WAYY too time consuming...
illu, then import then custom if needed... save time, make more money..

Both tracking and kerning controls are located right next to the character properties menu. (Where you make you font selection)
The 'help' menu works too.
