T. Ridge will no doubt resurface in politics. He was almost going to run as the VP with Bush in 2000. After 9.11 he got appointed to that position. Actually, he's pretty bright and was a good Pennsylvanian Governor. Beats the hell out of Rendell.

the only thing I can be concerned about are the CIA heads leaving...otherwise, the media is making a bigger thing out of it that it is....when Powell can make $250k per speaking engagment as can any other cabinet members, the numbers that count have $ sings in front of them.

yeah, it isnt possible that they dont like the direction the admin is taking america, I guess.

is it common for the incumbent pres not to mention the cabinet changes during the campaign?

actually, it's quite common for cabinet changes during an incumbents president's second term. you've got super professionals that made their names and now will POWER reap the benefits with speech money, etc. Colin Powel owns a major chunk of AOL for instance.

thank you , JazX. I'm sure you're not defending my position....
there can be any number of reasons that people are leaving...I'm sure some don't want to be held accountable if something further goes arwy..I just don't buy into the drama.

its been well known that powell hasnt agreed with the handling of iraq, so I guess that may be your drama.

I'm not sure fella's. I guess IMO, I see these people whether Dems or Reps getting tired of the drama in the cabinet after 4 years.
Powel seemed like he was tired and wanted to retire in general. He's f*cking loaded, what does he care at this point. How many stars does he have on his shoulder?

I dont think anyone is really the sec. of state because of the bi-weekly paychecks.

Well, the residuals in the end it does. Speaking fees, appearances, books and such. As well as insider info on much sh*t.
