Basically I need to get hooked up and would like some advice on broadband providers in the UK (south west). Who should I use???

they are all pretty competitve. i went bt last year because they support xbox live. at that time not many were supporting xbox. when they dropped their prices i went 1mb service...its magic

FUCK ME! Have you seen this (from PBS link by Faz)? 8MB broadband - only £5 more expensive than my Blueyonder 1.5MB. I'm tempted!

I have been using blueyonder from Telewest for about 4 years now and it been good. The bad part is its only available in parts of the country.

I was just looking at that. 8MB is bloody fast. But the barstards do not support my arealer. pooooo. Does anyone now how fast 8MB is converted to K

Am getting connected to Bulldog tomorrow. 4 mb line for £40 a month including line rental and inclusive calls, no BT in site :)
Long league time for connection though, took them over 3 weeks to get me connected, but then my pad didn't even have a line so I guess that's not too bad.

My 1.5MB Blueyonder has download speeds of around 175k/sec so I guess the *MB would be around the 1MB/sec mark.
