with a deep black do
40/0/0/100, else if you use magenta it will be a reddish brown black. cyan will make it a cooler, dark, black

Isent that too much colour?
I think the printing guy will hate me for putting all that colour in?

ya, the printing guy will probably strip it out right before he goes to plates if you put on all the ink fountains. they prefer cyan black

thanx robotron3k... Im going with the 40 cyan!

I've never had that happen to me. Sometimes I use the photoshop black with Quark black overtop and you can achive a varnish like effect sans la varnish.

50c, 100k will help the black to dry quicker, good for large area coverages.

I always use 65, 65, 65, 100 and have never had a problem.
