how does a computer mess up your eyes? I dont wear glasses but my eyes have been bothering me lately - I kinda hope I need glasses. Im always on the hunt for some nice vintage tortoise shells..

Before getting the tragically hip "nerdy black plastic frames" that I have now, I preferred contacts to my glasses because the nose pads on my then-metal frames would dig into my skin. However, at the end of the day, contacts can feel like they are eating your eyeball. So I tried the plastic frames with their no-nose pads. I hardly ever think of wearing contacts now.

Contacts are evil. They dry your eyes up like no tomorrow. The drops help, but I don't like anything that has that much maintenance just to see.

One of the fun things about contacts is when you're talking to someone and you blink when your contacts are kinda dry, then your eye is stuck half open.

Good point mayo. As well, they were always a good excuse when I came home and my parents would wonder why my eyes were so red...

I have to use the kind for stigmatisms. Those things are huge. It would be easier just to pop my eyeball out and wrap it in plastic wrap. :(

Mine are also for astigmatism. They are the same size as normal lenses, but they are weighted on the bottom so they don;t move around. they are also slightly thicker. Not bigger.
You must go to a quack.

he must be, these things are as big as parachutes. 8(

i just got back from a meeting with my new ophtamologist. i thought i was up to date on contacts, but was not. so i'll give you the skinny. almost anyone can wear contacts. i was using these monthly disposables. http://www.coopervision.com/us/p… they are made from omafilcron which is 80% water, meaning your body does not see it as a foriegn object, thus attacking it with proteins that lead to the build up on most lenses. they were the first lenses certified by the FDA as actually being able to reduce irritation. i liked them and always thought they fit well. my new doctor told me i was wrong. he said silicon lenses are the new hot shit and reccomended these. http://www.jnjvision.com/product… so i ordered mine here. http://www.clecontactlenses.com/…
or you can get some cool glasses too.

I don't know the name brand.. I only have my "trial pair". I get the rest in the box next week.
I know they are "custom toric" lenses and that they last 3 months. I was told that is the shortest amount of time for disposable in my prescription. I wanted 2 week disposeal and leave em in all night but he said they would not work 4 me
