flash color distortion

I recently came onto a project late in the process and was importing some graphics into flash and noticed that the colors weren't the same. I exported a graphic from photoshop as a png that was #7C7C7C. When I brought it into flash it was #8D8D8C. I tried importing jpegs into Flash and had the same problem. Reversed it was the same thing. I created a shape in flash that was #C4112F, and when I did a print screen and looked at it in Photoshop it said the color was #D11E30. Anyone know how to correct this or run into similar problems?

It's Photoshop, not flash. PS will wash out the colors, I forget why but it's a pretty common prob

First make sure you're in RGB mode !!
and remove all color profiles...

so Fate do you have a general rule changing images when exporting from photoshop?

how do you remove color profiles?

PS can change your monitors gamma and color profile. It's a process that attempts to closely match screen colors to printed colors, but doesn't work too hot for web stuff

so how do i remove the color profiles?

Wish I could say, I'm at school on a lame ass computer so I don't have access to PS. Just look around, I'm sure it's not that hard to find.

my squirrely fix for this is usually bumping up the saturation and contrast on my image in photoshop before making a png for flash -- as generally I find this problem most vexing with bright colors.
Does anyone have a more precise system/fix?

on a mac it's the menu called photoshop->colorsettings->and pull down the menu to 'color management off'

shift control K on a pc. Or under the 'edit' menu -> color settings

Thanks. I've been trying to increase the saturation and contrast before exporting in Photoshop, but it seems like a lot of trial and error for each image. I don't know why I never noticed this before.
