here's the basic look of a site I'm designing right now.

I'm going to create some transitions and I was thinking about creating some vector animations similiar to those that you see on the Vodafone Future site.
Would that be a bad combo?

I suggest sharpening up your fonts - make sure they are on a whole _x and _y value.

yeah I've alreay dbeeen throught that...haven;t uploaded yet. I'm not really worried about the fonts right now :)

the choice of font is way dated imo, I find the colours a little cold aswell, its looks rather cold and inhospitable, the site seems to have no soul.
just my 2c tho

what i want to know is if the kind of vector animation that you see on the Vodafone futures website would be a bad clash with what I have.

which transition the horizontal or the frame resizing? or the little animated elements?

yes...for one you have this thing devided into so many boxes that if you do zoom animation type stuff...it really wont look half as nice as it would if the window were bigger. Ya know?
I think you can do beter on this site mate.

The typography needs to be much better. I am - according to the sales guy - sitting in front of the best monitor in the world, yet I'm having the hardest time reading.
Pixel fonts are never to be used in paragraphs or sentences longer than menu items, IMO. Pixel fonts shouldn't be anti-aliased (then there's really no purpose, is there), and that particular font isn't optimized for that size. And for heaven's sake, loose the drop shadow in the menu. It's only making it blurry.
Other than that, some colors are actually quite nice. However, the color of the bottom-left and the bottom-middle box on the front page (blue/purple sort of) don't seem to mix very well with the grey and the blue.
Keep working my good man! I'm sure it'll turn out very pretty once it's done.

I'm talking about the small animated elements...the little rotating thingys...the lins the travel and go around corners, etc...
the squares all have elements intended for them so they won't sit there blank.
I've heard so many mixed messages about the fonts but now it's looking like I'm having to go towards a sans serif thing....I was trying to avoid going helevetica or arial....oh welll......also, i'm desiging for 1024 X 768 since that's typically the safest imo.
