seriously.
i'm helping my photographer friend convert his currently html based website to flash. luckily this means he has edited and sized all of his photographic images which makes my job really easy.so i built this template for photogallery -- 2 versions of them. one has array within actionscript, the other loading up from xml, just to see which method he prefers (after all, after the template, he'll be managing the site).
now interestingly, in both methods, some of his pictures won't load onto the empty movieclip area while others do.
it's not sizing issues because they're all sized the same. we tried and tried with no avail.
...until today, i accidentally saved one of the images that didn't load using illustrator, then exported using RGB instead of CMYK. after my "oh fuck, hope i still have it in my backup... (which i did)", i discover that this newly saved image loads up just fine in my flash photogallery.
now, he was editing the images using photoshop 5. i'm using flash mx 2004 pro.
do you guys think it's something about some of the images file format (like how they were saved) or some weird conflict between photoshop 5 and mx 2004? i really hate to re-save all those images one by one.

There is an issue with progressive jpegs. Look for a MM technote on it.
