A little help for a novice:
I draw a hyper link on a jpeg and I see how to point it to a url. It defaults to invisible.
How do I make it change color on a rollover- or is that possible?

make the jpg change color?
if that's what you're trying to do you'll need to use some jscript rollover type thang...

the link around it? use css!

what do u mean by it defaults to invisible?
are u wanting a border hover colour to change?
or a swap-image behaviour?

I mean, I have a background image. I am drawing a map rectangle around an area I want to be a link.
Is there a away to the mapped area change color when I roll over?

dude, you need to make them separate images. otherwise you can swap out the entire image with only a portion of it changed.
email if you need more help than that.

Another solution would to be nix the idea of an image map and use CSS to position a div with small clipping of the image in it and stick an image swap in it instead.

Thanks everyone. My site is really, really simple. I don't know web software or css.
I basically just went with it how it was, no rollover. It still works and I think it looks pretty slammin. Check it out if you want.
I'll be spending more time in the future learning web.
Thanx Again.
Peace.

The answer is CSS (aka style sheets). It's an easy external file that controls different aspects of HTML. Google it...
