i actually used a standing desk for around 2years when i lived in NYC. I just thought it was a cool thing to do at the time. I liked it, its easier to just rock on up and start working - people liked to hang out at your desk as they didn't have that awkward behind the chair thing... My feet ached at first but my back was much better and i really did like working like that.
then i became an alcoholic and standing on your feet all day when hungover is the worst thing ever.
i now have a lovely herman miller chair.
