for those impatient PC players : the PS2 works fine on PS2 emulators, quite a few settings to do and a few crashes but so much pleasure in return !

thanks enobrev, that explains a lot! i was so excited yesterday about turf wars that i started a killing spree which didn't get me the result i wanted and i know now why. but i increased my pistol skills though.

i had a good night and a bad night.
the good was thanks to what i learnt in this thread yesterday. i went to the tallest building in Los Santos and base jumped from it. i then jumped over the wall into the airport at LS and flew the lear jet along the strip in Las Venturas (i'm not so far into the game that i've been there yet so this was my first visit) until i got shot down. brilliant.
then the bad shit. i started Zero's missions in SF and i think i must have tried Air Raid 8 or 9 times and still didn't beat it. a couple of times i couldn't seem to miss, but i still couldn't beat that mission! very frustrating.

I'm completely stuck with the dancing on the beach mission, never was a big Parapa The Rapper fan.
- rabattski0
is that the first og loc mission?
- dc_again0
contra - try it after a few beers. seriously! i cracked Life's A Beach at about 2 in the morning after too many beers. i turned the music right up and completely ignored the score. the next thing i know it said mission passed.
they should have a replay on that so you can see how you danced. you have no idea what he looks like coz you're concentrating on the circle.

you can also practice in the alhambra club. say who know's where the pig pen is, supposed to be a strip club.

My brain just gives up during that one, same in the club, shame you can't go and buy pills and booze somewhere, at least you'd believe you were dancing well after that.

Un-f**king-believeable. Just yesterday I read about a poor sap whose POS2 scratched is disk. Well low and behold Karma came and booted me in the ass. My PS2 scratched it and now it won't play. Anyone know any remedies?
Help, my virtual life is in danger...
- rabattski0
POS2? you mean PS2? and a playstation scratching a disk? serious?
- Ekard0
badgorilla:
you've been playing way too much.. I went through 3 ViceCity discs becuase my system scratched them... ps2s just get over heated and fuck'em up... only solution is to get a new one, the old ones do that after time.

oh - and i'm on the mission where i'm haning with the crazy mexican cousin robbing banks and liquor stores...

My PS2 has been making some evil noise and failing to load games and DVDs, strangely GTA plays fine though (much to the disappointment of my career). Should I be buying a new one?
- rabattski0
dunno mate, but if your ps2 scratches a game you at least can get a refund from sony or something because that is not normal. what if your cd player fucks up all your audio cd's, do you buy new ones over and over again? i would be pissed if that would happen to me. i'm not gonna spend 60 euro twice due to a ps2 fault.

rabattski has a great point until you remember that by the time you get a cheque through the post from sony, we'll all all finished san andreas twice, and will probably be chatting excitedly about the next gta game.
what would i do? - i swear a lot, kick a few things, swear some more then go to the shop and buy another copy and start playing again.
- rabattski0
well the guarantee just lasts 1 year which could work out badly. but still. never heard of it though that a ps2 is able to do that.

how the fuck do i take my sunglasses off? once i bought them... i cant just wear nothing....
- badgorilla0
I've started by contacting Sony to see if they'll fix (ha ha) the problem. Other than that I'm dusting off the credit card and purchasing a new system and game.
BEWARE: Evil grinding noises from your PS2 could mean that the laser is not tracking the disk and may scratch it.
- contra0
Evil grinding noise is exactly what I've got, hmm, and they've just launched the new PS2, and I need a second controller :)
Shopping time.

i heard that grinding noise a couple of times while playing dvd's. the reason was that the floor it's standing on is crooked. leveled it out straight. since then i never heard it again. btw on the bottom side of a dvd disc a scratch has to be really deep to actually take it out of order. most of the time it's a scratch on top of it (silver foil) damaging the print so that laser doesn't bounce of anymore.
