I have a 1ghz tiG4 powerbook that I am trying to connect an external CRT to. I have tryed several different cables and monitors and everytime get ghosting and a slight flicker no matter what refresh/resolution it is set at. From what I have heard I am not the only one. Has anyone ever managed to get this fixed?

yep
googled and scoured the apple discussion board. There was a long thread about this exact problem with the conclusion that apple was unwilling to fix it. One post said that a straight DVI to VGA cable worked for him, but I cannot get one of those in my town without special order

didnt one come with your book? maybe u can get another adaptor from like radio shack or somthin to make it fit

I can get adaptors. The suggestion was to use a cable with DVI on one end and VGA on the other instead of an adaptor.
like this

Cable is much cheaper elsewhere_
