I have this writer friend who looks like a cross between Samuel L Jackson and the gay sci fiction comic in Chasing Amy. While wearing a black beret sideways with some red Terminator X glasses, he told me this story the other day about wandering around the mall with a brick in his hand at 4:00 am, until he got stopped by security guards, which then led to a soliloqy about race relations in this country. For a moment I began to hallucinate as he was talking, and saw heaven as this collection of Samuel characters, kind of a ghetto Being John Malcovich, only with the best activator juice in the land, and of course, Lucy Lui in a Geisha outfit.
With that said, what is your favorite Samuel L Jackson role (Pulp Fiction excluded)? It seems like he 's getting to be a bit of a caricature--the greasy black gerrycurled guy who shouts a lot , and yet particularly in the early years he did some amazing work. I liked him as the chess playing father figure in Fresh, as Mister Senor Love Daddy in Do the Right Thing, and in particular, as Stacks Edwards in GoodFellas, especially that scene where Joe Pesci shoots him in the back of the head for perpetually oversleeping.

Pulp Fiction excluded? Well Die Hard 3 wasn't too bad except for how he kept accusing everyone as being racist, but I guess he does that in every movie.
Worst movie?
Possibly Deep Blue Sea or Episode 1

Haha, you're crazy. What a good thread!
I love some of his one liners, like in Jackie Brown when he's on the telephone in his house and is talking to his wife or whoever and he's telling her to clean the house. In between pauses in the phone conversation, he says to her,
"I mean, this is some repugnant sh*t!"And when Pesci goes to his place and shoots him, Pesci is looking around with Stacks in those weird underwear and Pesci says "I thought you'd be in here with one of your b**ches?"
Good stuff.

I look like a cross between Jimmy Fallon and an HIV street kid.

Jackie Brown was awesome... so underated.
I love when hes talkin about one of his guns (while watching that video)
"...if you absolutely need to kill every mother fucker in the room..."
ha, priceless!

I enjoyed him in Jackie Brown but that dry ponytail was unnerving. Why Quentin, why?
I thought he was excellent in The Red Violin too....

Jackie Brown is a great movie. I saw it with about 10 people when it came out and they all hated it.
Some people just need everything in their face, can't handle a good story.

yeah, Red Violin... I forgot how awesome that movie was. I gotta go pick that bad boy up...
nice call julien.

He's pretty good as Officer Frank Tenpenny in GTA San Andreas

I like when you search his body of work in the late 80's and all it says next to his name is Criminal or Gang Member #2 or Hold Up Man (like in Coming to America) It must be hard for a brotha to break stereotypes in Hollywood.

Apart from the obvious already mentioned (GoodFellas, Red Violin, etc.) I loved Caveman’s Valentine.
187 was another good one. He plays the teacher in NY who is stabbed by a student, spends a year recovering, and moves to L.A. to teach, stepping into a warzone.
Worst? T.W.A.T. ...er... I mean S.W.A.T.

I didn't know Samuel L Jackson was in Goodfellas! That's one of my favorite movies and I never noticed him. :O
