I know there are loads of threads on ADSL. Thinking of Bulldog but getting v. mixed reports. Price/speed look good but seen some bad reports earlier in the year about service/reliability?
Anyone using them at the moment? What you think of them?

I am desperately trying to get them to cancel my contract due to poor speed, poor reliability and abysmal customer service, but having trouble with this due to a total lack of continuity in the communications with customer service/tech support (they dont answer my email questions correctly, often contradicting themselves about service conditions, and it takes forever to get through on telephone tech support).
There was a petition at petitiononline.com (now gone I think) to have Bulldog's ISPA 2004 Award revoked, signed by several hundred people.
The Register has covered them a lot in the last few months re complaints:
http://www.theregister.co.uk/200…See the ISP ratings on http://www.adslguide.org.uk/
(September ratings out soon are expected to be even lower, due to the almost complete collapse of the Bulldog service end of September)There is also a message board on ADSLGuide, with several thousand postings in the Bulldog Communications forum...
Your mileage may vary.

Once I escape, I'm looking at PlusNet, Zen, Maibox or possibly HomeChoice for their combined digitalTV/ADSL

I've been on Zen for a couple of years now, great service, no speed problems and they've just dropped their prices a bit.

been using bulldog 1mb line since july and its the best isp i've ever dealt with. the line had NEVER gone down - to my knowledge - and the speed is awesome. i get a static ip with them aswell, all for about 22 quid a month. superb.
in my experience ;)

thanks for the info. still mixed messages although main need is for business so I worry about the negatives I have heard so far.

Bulldog offers a 4mb service in central London, but I'm unsure if this is faster overall (after contention is taken into account) than the 2mb services from PlusNet, Zen etc
Does anyone have experience with these?
