i just saw a "Firefighters for Kerry" yellow & black poster ....
laying on the rain soaked street ....
pausing briefly in the dim comedown of the afternoon rain ....
i stood and shook my head
then went across avenue A & bought some cheap vodka,
talked to the old lady behind the counter and went home.i'm staying real and contemplative momentarily ....
the positive part will come later ...
as ever, TF

it's always good to stay positive and look at thing objectively. even when your favorite doesn't win the election.

problem is that it's his last term, so he doesnt need public opinion.

yeah getting to TF's comment about the posters. the Kerry ones are disappearing and now I see anti-bush buttons being worn by the slackers in this area.

the electoral sack was in order for sure.
let's remember the good times at least.

I was traveling yesterday and today and missed out on all the hoopla about this...so no protests? No turning over of cars or burning of small businesses?

positvity != selling out

...or instead of bineg blindly positive and hopeful that bush will change his ways now that he has nothing to lose...focus your anger, depression, insanity, whatever it is into positive action.
We can't get into Canada for a good 3 years anyway, might as well make yourself useful here.

Bush will have to live with the giant mess he has made
as John Mitchell once said, this country's going so far to the right you won't recognize it
after much suffering, this will in turn usher in a more humanitarian era

i kinda think this will be another reagan type deal. 8 years of insane fiscal policies which will hopefully be reigned in by 8 years of a sensible democratic president (clinton 2 perhaps?).
i betcha colin powell's a goner this time around too.

i cried
i went home last night from a day of everyone saying the same bleak things, the same real thing, the unavoidable facts that we are, as i repeated, in the grip of a Death Cult. But, i cried for John Kerry, not necessarily because he lost what was one of the more valiant races of the past decades, but because of those who hated Bush, voted for Kerry, but never really liked him like he liked you. He clung to America, the way a spelunker clings to the rough, darkened rock that populates the darkn ess. He held the torch for the way up and out of the ignorant cave. He was inclusive about it...it was for EVERYONE!
But just as so many "undecided" or "unaffected" voters voted for Bush ONLY because it was a vote against Michael Moore(i heard this from a caller on C-SPAN), many who voted for him did so without knowing very much about the man, or making an effort to try (And NO, the media was not helpful in helping us to get to know one of our brightest politicians) Many never saw his 1971 Senate testimony in full,.,,.,saw the laser guided conscience. Many never read the details of his Senate record, his help in unifying North and South Vietnam, many never cited his record for the environment, many never read his 1997 book that tackles the emerging issues of tracking down and cutting funding for International mob and terrorist groups. Many never knew just how close he came to exposing the Bush family cocaine wars involving shady banking and the Iran-Contra affair.
No, many voted against Bush but not FOR Kerry. Well, that made all the difference....

2008 is definitely looking like clinton 2 -- if hilary wins, do we call bill "first gentleman"?
