encore sounds like it was just rushed. Like jay-z last double album. They know that their albums will sell so they rush their shit just to make coin. Ya Em has some lyrics on this album but fuck the beats sound so trashed. Its like "hey EM hurry up we need Xzibit in the studio so wrap it up" plus Busta is comin out with w anew album so dre probably didnt wanna waste his beats on Em and put them on bustas album. Though the bonus disc from the Encore album has three of the best tracks so i dont understand. Even though i heard them awhile back.

I don't know man, I think Dre is pretty played out and falling off. Again, just my opinion but his production has been pretty weak as of late. I didn't think much of the Chronic shit. I still think his best, most innovative work was with NWA. Still some of the best beats ever...

the chronic 2001 was dope. Every track was pretty dope. But i do agree with u on the NWA thing. But look who he had with him for inspiration and help. Some of hiphops heavy hitters back in teh day with cube ren eazy.

Yeah, I know lot's of people agree with you re: the chronic, it just wasn't my thing. I think apart from the group it was just that time in hip hop too, with PE, Ultra, Organized Confusion+ many others really upping the ante in terms of production values and innovation.
