This is a great chance for you to explore art in a way you have never had the time to before

Set yourself a project or two: Write yourself a brief.
This is your chance to do the project of your dreams, with no creative barriers. Beef up your portfolio with an incredible piece of work. If you're not doing anything else then you have no excuse not to!

you have a great portfolio, but only my boredom kept me there long enough to actually find it.
1) kill the full screen
2) black is for porn sites
3) how you showcase your work once i found it was so different (in a damn good way) lf the rest of the site i'd say do the whole site simple like that.
4) re work your site my man.good luck.

Great advice from Kona. I went back to the portfolio after that comment and found the work (the first time I closed it when I got to the coloured bars). Love that short story by Yoshimoto.
Revamp and get out there.

hey thanks for the comments.
k0na_an0k,
did you have trouble actualy finding the works section?and you mean the rest of the site is not simple enough...
- usrper0
and was the color bars page so uninteresting that you just decide to close it?

heres a good one. pretend that you are your own small business, and design a name, logo, website etc around your unique skills as a designer or whatever, that way you can either point prospective eployers to your new site, or even filter freelance through it. think of yourself always as a small business with a unique 'niche' or 'boutique' set of skills.

like others have said your work is great. only thing i would work with is the sharpness of the text on some of the images are just a bit blurry. other then that, it's cool. so that should kill sometime.
one thing i would highly suggest is get in a routine of working out. it's amazing how much better you feel about yourself. helps the creative juices flow in your head as well to produce more work. now's the time to do the type of work you've been wanting to do but haven't had the chance.

im glad you guys really giving me inspirations and useful comments.
auricom, ill work on the images, and yes work out.

you have some really nice work on your site but I think you are really doing yourself some harm with the nav on your site, I think you should just keep it dead simple with the forward back butttones like you have and just something indicating how much more to go, or something to indicate it etc... the nav at the moment is just annoying and doesn't really mean anything... not my thing for a folio site, people may miss your stuff which is better than your site, you should be able to get work no problem imo.

nah usrper. i meant it took a long time to download the site, then once it did there were only three, tiny places to click. once i clicked it it took another few minutes to load the page, but when it did it was laid out REALLY nice. i'm just saying sometimes simple is better. if you lose the black and design the rest of the site around the portfolio section it will be MUCH stronger.

about the navigation: yea, the thing is i couldnt figure out a script that allows something to happen on imageLoad (from txt file), thats hindered the indication for how many more images to go..
i will fix the blur type.
and kOna, do you use a slow connection? i do realize its a problem, just that i never loaded my site on a dialup computer...

man, your work is solid.
trendy, but not really following any trends.
good works.
