G5 - which to get?

This is especially directed at current G5 owners/users.
I'm wondering which G5 out of the dual 2Ghz and dual 2.5Ghz is the best bet for me.
Before I get into my needs, I'll make it known that if I got the 2Ghz model, I'd make up the difference in price between it and the dual 2.5Ghz by spending that money on upgrades (ram specifically).
Anyway, most of the stuff I do (other than processor-friendly web design, php testing and the like) is Photoshop-based, often I'll work with files in excess of 400mb. I also do some illustrator and flash stuff, but that's not particularly taxing on the computer either. Down the track I may do _some_ video editing too.
So what I'm asking is would there be much of a difference between the dual 2Ghz G5 (with no upgrades) and the dual 2.5Ghz G5 (with no upgrades) in terms or working with large Photoshop files, applying filers etc etc OR would the difference be negligible (if so I'd much rather get the dual 2Ghz and spend the left over money bumping up ram (which I would need to do on the dual 2.5Ghz anyway) and saving for a possible video card upgrade down the track).
Thanks in advance.

i would go with the dual 2GHz and get the upgrades.
you wouldnt be able to notice the difference between the 2 and the 2.5. more RAM!
im jelous man, let us know what you decide.

yeah, i have the dual 2 and jacked up the ram to 1.5 ghz. i work with 400mb pshop files on a daily basis and it eats them for lunch.
dont get the 2.5 - the price is jacked up right now anyway. save your money, you'll get more use out of the ram rather than a few extra ghz.
=)

right. 1.5 ghz of ram.
thats what i get for posting first thing in the morning.
1.5 gb of ram.
excuse me while i go eat some coffee beans.

i'm running the first rev Dual 2 with 2GB of ram.....love it. For photoshop, the 2.5GHZ is only 16% faster then the 2.0, that ain't shit.
put it this way, after playing with a 2.5GHZ with the same files i use one my 2.0, i wasn't the least bit pissed that a new model came out nor did i start thinking of ways to sell mine to get the 2.5. get the 2.0 and put as much ram as you can afford into it. Crucial has some decent deals on memory right now.

I own a Dual 2ghz and it rocks. The .5ghz difference will be negligible and barely—if at all—noticeable. The more RAM your machine has, the faster it will go. This is an old article, but it still applies: http://www.macaddict.com/issues/…

go with the dual 2ghz and boost the ram. make sure you wear your proper safety gear and sit 3-4 feet away while you work as it is so fast it will literally rip your face off.
