so im need to make a clipping path and insert a document into quark is there a way i can export a path into photoshop from illustrator

yes. just copy paste and select 'path' rather than 'pixels' when it asks.

no worky in cs says program error

file > open > choose your illy file. > rasterize
it puts the file on a checkered background
then Apple>Select the layer and it should select the shape. Then turn the selection to a path.
kinda ghetto, may work depending.
What the other guy said should werk tho... try restarting

im in school and they got some weird thing going with the compters earlier when i tried plugging in my ipod it would shut the computer down ill try it when i get to my house

doing it soler's way may work but like he said, problematic (too many points on the path as it can't automatically do corners, just does hundreds of tiny straight lines).
check your prefs. (especially the clipboad ones). maybe trash your prefs and start over.

in PS export > export paths to illustrator

doesn't the dude want to bring paths from ai to ps (not the other way)?
