Anyone know why iTunes won't let me copy songs purchased from iTunes on to my iPod ?

Depends on if you have the filters checked. In iPod Settings, you might have to uncheck the filters for Celine, Enrique, Ashlee or JT. Or the global ones like Country, Crunk or New Age.
Just depends.

Ah ha, worked it out, had to update the firmware on my iPod to be compatible with iTunes 4.6 and higher

I've recently just finished copying all 7000 of my tracks from cd to my mac... today a new itunes was available and it now lets you view all duplicates... so you can dleete the ones you don't want... i saved over half a gb... so it is worth downloading

i dont keep duplicate mp3's. that solves the problem right there.
