Im gettin it hard to come up with a design for my portfolio site...

i'd like to go with this idea but im not 100%! comments would be great help.

looks nice visually, how would it work though? What content would go in those boxes? How would you show your portfolio pieces?

there seems to be a lot of emphasis on 'falling rock' which a) seems irrelevant and b) rhymes with cock.

I agree with rasko, the sign is getting all the attention. I think the "ripped"/washed out layout is making a content area that's too small. About that : maybe if you scanned a ripped paper, you could achieve something more "rough".
like the ideia.

I agree that keeping it simple is the best way. I have made several versions of my portfolio site, but I inevitably get tired of them. The current version I have up is very simple and I have left myself room to elaborate on what is already there.
