JPG METADATA

I have been searching through lots of documentation, that I can't seem to understand, about displaying jpgs metadata. I want to be able to use jpg metadata for the information on each of my photos so that I don't have to waste server resources with a mySQL database for the title and description of my photos. Does anyone know of a good (fairly simple) way of doing this? Thanks.

You want a good app for adding Metadata to your JPEGs?

The standard for annotations is IPTC.
Image cataloguing apps such as iView Media Pro can batch edit the IPTC tags in your images...

oh...you want to know how to extract the IPTC tags to use on your web pages?
No idea...but it must be possible...All the major press databases require images to be uploaded with IPTC tags, and they extract all the tags such as title, author, date, counry, city, copyright and all the image tech details...

Maybe ImageMagick can handle this?

Photoshop CS does it as well (insert & edit IPTC data). Yeah, I agree with ribit, it has to be a server-side application that knows how to extract it. Depending on what OS your server is running, check Google for applications that would do the trick or simply ask your web host.
1 of the sites that uses it successfully is http://www.sxc.hu/
