Have you ever caught anyone that's actually good/entertaining in it? To tell the truth althought its an excellent medium, a lot of the acts i've seen dont do much for me.
I'm feeling Saul Williams though and might check him out when he hits toronto soon. are there any good acts in the medium that you are aware of, its something i want to get into...Rollins is cool, jello annoys me

Rollins for sure...
I remember seeing him at a bar in Toronto many years ago and there were a few skinheads there. He was getting them all pumped saying things like "I bet there are a few people you'd like to see run outta this country" and their response was YEAH! "I bet there are a few people you'd like to see shipped home!" and again their response was YEAH! (During this time the rest of the room was completely silent.) He then looked square at them and said in a dead serious voice "You fuckers would be on the 1st plane." The whole place broke out cheering and laughing at them... they left within minutes. It was really quite amazing, he sort of played the whole room.
I'm sure he realized right from the start that these skins were pretty intimidating to the rest of the people there and within a few seconds he was able to strip that from them and almost unite the rest of the room against them.

yeah spoken word is a dynamic medium, and it needs to rid the stereotype of pretentious college geeks who repeat the same phrase multiple times for emphasis
