If you are going to buck up for a DigSLR, don't go the EOS Rebel. Pay the extra and get the Nikon D70.
Got this camera and it's awesome. And not just some cheap lens that they throw in with the package, the lens is crisp, the camera is easy to use, and can shoot 3FPS.
RE: The new small camera from costco - good for drinking photos etc. Not for much else.

Hey dont diss the Rebel. Its a great camera behind a shitty kit lens. But once you invest on some quality lenses, the image quality is on par (if not better than the D70) especially at ISO100. Plus there's a firmware hack that gives it all the functions of the 10D. So a 10D for a sub 1000$ is pretty sweet deal.

it is my first digital camera...after seeing htis one, i finally swtiched to digital. just no other dig cam did it for me until this one came out.
i just don't see how it cam get any better. plus there is a new flash comingout that is AMAzing!!
