my dad and my father in law...
my dad cuz you couldn't ask for a better one...apparently (and no one really talks about it) his dad was a bit of a nut and was abusive, etc...and he not only survived it, but became the great guy that he is.. rather than become a guy like his ol man...
supportive, quiet, funny as hell, and above everything else, a true gentleman...my father in law, for much the same..
born in india, his real mother died when he was very young..like maybe 5 or something..
his stepmother (right out of a grim fairytale) decided she didn't much like him and his brothers in the house, kicked them out..
so they lived from house to house, but mostly out in the wilderness on the mountains, foraging and shit like that...the crazy thing is it's true..
someone here would get charged with child abuse, but there it was like 'eh..shit happens'...his brothers worked so he could go to school, and he went from india to germany to here...
a more educated, witty, kind soul you won't find..a liberal to the core, and one of the smartest men i've ever met..
the kind that don't intimidate you with their intelligence, but make you want to learn more yourself..i was lucky enough to have one for a father,
and lucky again to marry an amazing woman from an equally amazing family...bill and vargese
my two heros
*at this point, a 'hallmark moment' logo or something should appear....dont' you think?

Well, my musical hero is a chap called Al Jackson, he played the drums on the Stax soul stuff with Steve Cropper, Duck Dunn and Booker T. Unfortunately shot dead in 1975, great drummer, no messing about.
