ok.. designers do this all the time, but arnaud has experience enough to know what's wise or not..

oh tparsons.. it must be an unbelieavable coincidence if someone who often visits and was even an editor at a site (NT) and uses two similar things on work of his/studio own.
I've seen people doing what you say and after noticing there was already something quite near his idea/concept or graphic to go back and re-do it.

Hey guys - thanks for the comments - I read them indeed. It's always fun too read what people have to say about your work.
For that GiantStep layout, it's true Newstoday inspired me. I don't feel like I copied, I just used one thing that I believe works for a particular problem. Sometime I invent new solutions, sometime I found them already existing - do we have to make everything from scratch for each project?
For the patterns, well It's says on the bottom of the page that I found them on the internet, probably at the same place you found yours Kodap. I just re-did them.
Anyway, just thought I had to say something... Cheers and thanks for your comments!
