dude that is an expensive seat. I like it. first thing i thought though was that it seemed lonely and the clothing/shoe store setting made me think of it as a modular seating set-up. this quick sketch was what popped into my mind
it allows for two users per module and the experience can be private or communicative. facing different directions but can turn their head for a quick 'chat'. Once you improve the production costs you could offer it for clothing store refits etc. At this stage the form isn't as relevant, now you have an extended use.oh and "tseting specific colors."

nice
main idea for that chair was to be a coffee table..
the backing is removable...
i had to use walnut backing due to lack of time.. i wanted to use resin for the backing..

interesting variation, lowimpakt.

regarding both the original and lowimpakt's idea: it would be cool if it was possible to change direction of the back support. ie lift it up a bit and change angle. of course this mean the 'slot-in' has to be centred and slightly bigger and that there's some kind of 'slide' at the bottom in to which you put the backing. that supports it. Do I make sense? :-/

the question is strength.
and also stabilty..the body area needs to be considered also

didn't you say that you were quitting design work for good?
