I am thinking about buying an iBook, but the screen resolution bathers me.. some iBook owner got a comment on that? Is it annoyingly low? And if you answer; what do you use the book for?

iBook is for showing your "good" taste for welldesigned products and typing text in word.
Powerbooks are for real men.

Yea.. expected that answer - but I am a poor student.. I would buy a PowerBook if I had the money!

i have a 11152x768 pixel powerbook. this res does the job. nothing wrong with it.
what's the res of the powerbook you want to buy?

With the iBook released the other day (1.3) and a Bluetooth module, there's really no point in getting a PB right now.
1024x768 is fine for everyday use.
- Nypan840
Well, yea, what did you do there stewart? Do not live there anymore though.
- Nypan840
Okay, and everyday use to you means working with photos and stuff??

i visited friends who live in Krokom (near Ostersund) and the train from Stockholm stopped for 3 hours in Gävle. so i've "been" there.

i''ve got a iBook and it does enough for me. I also hacked it to enable dual display, works great.

i use mine to show clients there work and to just have something portable. couldn't warrant getting a powerbook since i have a desktop as well. i love mine and it's the 900mhz model. the iBooks that came out last week are nice, Airport included as well. just custom order it with bluetooth.
only gripe about the iBook vs the PB is the Frontside bus speed.

If cost is the factor... look into the Sale Section on apples site. Its in the store.. lower right hand side. Big Red Tag.
You can pick up Referbished Powerbooks there that are pretty much new. I got my 17 inch powerbook for 2100 ...

yeah i was hesitant to fork out almost $4500 (australian dollars) for a 15" PB......but it sure was worth it...this baby rocks :)

I just ordered myself a 12" ibook w extra 256 ram and a 60gig HD and got it for $1800 AUS.

I have an iBook that I bought for my online schooling and to have somthing to care around for my freelance work - it works pretty well, no complaints. I alson have a desktop so I go back and forth. Though I think I would be lost without it.

have an old G3 500 iBook 12"
done alot of work on it.. then i got a 15.2" Powerbook.. now i would never go below 15" ever ever again..
12" is just too small for a laptop if you are thinking of doing some serious work on it.
14" iBook's are very cheap now, so go with that to begin with!
Then when your are shitfresh out of school and you get your first job, go punch your boss very hard in the eye and tell him you won't settle for anything less than extra tiptop of the line limited special edition 17" gold plated powerbook....
