okay i just recently bought a new digital rebel (canon 300d SLR) and was able to go out and shoot a few skate pics the other day.. only about 4 of them worth posting. I LOVE THIS CAMERA!

eh it was the best one out of about 7-8 shots i took of the kid trying it
since he got it in 7-8 tries there's not much i could do :/

I've got a Canon Powershot G2 and am off to Singapore soon (cheap cameras) – would you advise the digi-slr one you got? what's the price roughly?

ugh... the knee thing...
... when I was 16 I kick-flipped 9 stairs...
... and now I can barely walk down the stairs w/out squinting in pain. I'm only 28 - I should still be nice and bouncy.

well it depends... the digtial rebel i was able to find the kit (body and lens) for 807$ by looking around online. You can get the next level up which is the 10D for 1500 I believe? I don't think there is a lot of difference between the two other than the 10D has a few more options in the menus, and some cool things you can do with the flash, oh and a sturdier body. But yeah, so far i'm more than happy w/my digital rebel so i'd recommend it to anyone looking for a good digital SLR at a cheap price.

colt is freakin machine... he skates like he's not even sponsored... so hungry still... also one of the most humble and nicest guys on our team... watch out for his first pro shoe in spring 05.
windsor is pretty sick too... that kid is going to blow up very soon.

i know its a skate thread, but i have the 300D as well... i hardly ever shoot hassleblad anymore...
but for the skaters, here's bucky lasek. just shot him a few weeks ago.
and the rest are just shots with the same camera... hope you enjoy.
oh and my friend... make sure you get the grip... makes the whole experience more pleasureable... hard to hold with big hands and no grip.. plus the verticle / horizontal button options and shutter release in the grip and it holds 2 batteries... worth the extra $$.

i need to start shopping for some new lenses, right now all i have is the 18-55 that came with the kit. wouldn't mind picking a telephoto and/or a fisheye. Wouldn't hurt to get a couple of flash slaves too
