I wanted to survey to see how many people had cool parents. Parents that you're capable of being seen with and not being embarrassed (yes I know we're not in high school, but sometimes the embarrassement will last you a lifetime).
For me, my dad rides a Ninja. He'll hopefully be riding a Yamaha R6 by the new year. He's heading to Italy with my brother so that he can go to the Ducati riding school.
My moms way fashionable. She just got those cool cat eye glasses with the rhinestones.
The reason I bring this up is that I saw this lady outside my work with magenta jeans on. The first thing I thought was "man, I'm glad my mom would never even touch those with a stick".
Anyone else?

my dad saw the clash, the who, hendrix, the stone,s the doors , and every other awesome band from back then.
I thank him for instilling in me a respect for good music

My dad is cool. Quirky and sometimes annoying but cool. His main hobby is riding his Harley. He's been accross Europe twice and he rides everychance he gets.
My mom was a very, very cool lady. She was a painter and graphic designer. We were very close. Unfortunately she passed away in 2000.

My dad is on first name basis with Roger Moore too. Mr Moore just doesn't realise it. No joke.

my mom was very cool. musician, painter. when I was in high school she had a three wheeler with a porche engine (which horrified me then). she died in '93 but I learned alot about living through her. :)

My dad was on a first name basis with my mum for a while. Not now though. No joke.

I'm not kidding. They're in the same swedish country club in France. (Roger is married to a swede, remember)

My previously-quite-conservative Dad now happily has a joint with me when I go home, we saw Elton John in concert a few months ago - dealing with the experience (!*) by getting quite shonked on San Miguel and spliffs. He also doesn't really mind my 'running a Magic mushroom company' and well, I can see now that, no matter how sad I ever thought he was (as a teen) - I can only hope I end up like him. (if you're wondering whether he's a bum, he's not - he's an MD and an upstanding member of the local scene).
My mum rocks too, but for different reasons.
* you must understand that not a lot exiciting happens where he lives.

Sorry Soler, no disrespect.
Lets give a big shout to all the awesome moms and dads out there, with us or not. Of course, everyones parents are cool in their own way. It's good to hear from all of you.
Very sorry for your loss monkeyshine, your mom was obviously a beautiful person.

my parents got divorced when i was about 6, i never treated my first step mum with enough respect (i was a typically twatty teen), when she died about 8 years ago i very quickly grew up and realised what's important in life and with people and most of all with the people we love.

aawww, gruntt...sorry to hear you lost your mom in 2000. Not that long ago. Nothing harder.
I dont think everyone thinks their parents are cool. I have lots of friends who are plagued by their decidedly uncool parents.
