Morning ladies and gents.
I'm looking for a torn/ripped effect for a Flash site I'm working on. Got a photo as the background and need to have a torn effect appear (revealing an engine underneath) when a button is clicked.
Anyone got any good visual references for this? Google has thrown up nothing.
Tanka.

scan like youve never scanned before.

do you mean , how do you create an effect in flash that looks like paper being torn - or do you just mean torn paper (by scanning in a piece of torn paper)?
a bit of imagination and problem solving should help you.
try sitting back and saying to yourself "hrmmmm .... how am i going to do this?"
then if you manage to figure it out then you have created something UNIQUE - rather than copying someone elses work.

Okay wiseguys. Obviously ripping a piece of paper is an option. I had to do that once on a project. And yes, I've used a scanner before too.
I was looking for some inspiration, you know that thing that inspires you. Anyone remember the Powell & Peralta skull ripping out of the T-Shirt? Hardly gonna get that effect by ripping a peice of A4 am I?
Don't know why I bother...
Maybe you'd all be happier if I just said "panties..."
"*hehehehehe, he said panties..."
Awwww, fook it. I'm goin' home.

ok, not to be a smart-ass, but usually when you stick up for yourself it's the opposite. You sure you've used a scanner before? ;)
