hey folks
the company i work for is littered with people who think low res jpgs magically become vector artwork just by re-naming the file ".eps" - does anyone know of a good, basic overview comparing and explaining the differences between vector and raster artwork?
i need it broken down like youre talking to a kid, these folks barely can grasp the concept of rgb vs. cmyk.
i would write it myself, but im afraid i would get too detailed and start losing people.
any help would be greatly appreciated!!
thanks....

i feel your pain bro... i had to break and it down to a client once and thought the best wau to do it was visually.
i took 2 files of the same logo (lo-res jpg and vector eps) laid them out on a page side by side and blew both of them up by 25% incriments and then printed it out.
it worked really well as the client could better understand seeing a visual example.

about.com usually quite a handy start place for "idiots guides to"

hope this helps

i have told them. many times.
yet they still cant grasp the concept.
yes, they are that dense.
believe it or not, these people work for a multi multi million dollar promotional items company.
im thinking if i can email or print them a little 1 or 2 page informative reference / guide document, then they'll finally understand. at least i hope they will.
i really, really hope they will.
that about.com thing is a good start, i may very well cut and paste key bits of info from that - but i'd love to see more links if anyone has them!!
thanks folks........

I deal with stupid people on a daily basis. It's always best to do diagrams, mockups, something physical.
the 25% logo increase was a good solution.
