the alpha fades kill my processor and make the text a bit tricky to read in some instances

some of the copy is rough to read...
... and the menu activated itself at the beginning... is it supposed to do that?
I don't like how it's always repositioning itself either. (the menu)... I think it should be a bit more stationary.
