- save0

They been around for a while alread,y in the states at least, god knows how long in the uk!
I like some of their tunes
- JazX0
nice beats, phony bologny content
- Dunners0
Too long... The ad campaign is lovely though - not sure who did it...

whatever, it's different shit. Blinded by the Lights is a bad ass tune, you can't disagree.
I just bought the first album. Let's Push Things Forward is great too.

"having a polished delivery is what matters as far as rap goes. i realize the streets is not a rap group, but the best mc's all have buttery smooth deliveries and styles."
--------------------------------...no way! are you kidding?
it's all about being smooth?
wowsers, did i have it all wrong! I've been wasting my time buying the wrong "rap" records for, like, twenty years now!
whatever happened to smooth b? he was like the smoothest ever and he didn't even make Source's top 100 MCs.
someone outa notify chuck d. i think he has a new record out. oh wait, maybe he's not a "rap group'' either. how do you distinguish? is Zach la Rocha a "rap" singer?
come to think of it there's a huge list of "rap" guys that need to be told what's up, from A(d rock) to (Z)ev love X (or whatever his new name is...)
thanks for schooling me john! i was totally listening to the wrong MCs this whole time.
* heads to corner record shop to trade in company flow records.

the music is okay, the boy has really got no flow though. sad but true. as much as he's a fad, i just can't seem to like him...
- JazX0
hey if you like it that's all that counts
- blackspade0
yea a little to many references to
*fucking phones man* *wheres my fucking phone man*
in the second album.
Blinded by the lights is a nice track, the video is sweet 2
search the PVN for the other streets threads
beware 'streets hate' is ripe on NT :)
- DaveId0
i kind of disagree.
beats are ok
his flow isn't revolutionary, but it's different. i kind of like fucked up rhyme patterns.
the content is the best part for me. it's mundane. he's like mike leigh with a microphone.
whatever, still wouldn't call myself a fan though.

exactly what i was thinking
he doesnt 'flow' in the typical sense
and thecontent is the best thing about it, mundane, life stories
boring shit about getting is TV fixed and how he hates his phone
rather listen to that than hear him talk about how big his mag wheels are and how they spin round and round
;)

it's different in that there's a lot of story telling involved. it's okay for a road trip when yu can listen to the whole album, but track by track, not that good. and let's not kid ourselves by saying he can rap or has any sort of rhythm.
- blackspade0
'let's not kid ourselves by saying he can rap or has any sort of rhythm.'
no one is.
he has an original delivery style
- DaveId0
" let's not kid ourselves by saying he can rap or has any sort of rhythm."
dude, to each his own.
that's what they said about monk. or dylan. or kool keith for that matter when critical beatdown dropped.
i'm not comparing him to those guys, i'm just saying i personally can't stand polished deliveries. i don't even really listen to that much hip-hop anymore because it's so .... whatever. whatever.

I actually think that people liking the streets is a massive conspiracy against good taste.
I mean seriously I have actually heard them playing in the background and asked, "What the fuck is this shit?" and gotten the response, "the streets".
It's probably just me, ignore if you wish, but I seriously think that everyone has collectively put their heads up their ass in reference to this band and how great they are.
I honestly, just don't get it.

haha
is that "good taste" being your everyday MTV balla?
