GOD!!!all the time now> at my job. you can make a good design as you think it.(i think about many here on NT---not for a big win!!!) for you. then the client partner takes it over. turn around this and change, turn around this and change yeah OK. do that. then having the AD come up with the "creme" on TOP :more of this. change it,turn around this and change. simple design then goooosh! to some cleint partners it is like meeting them self in the door but more often then not it is like night walking. round and round round and roundround and roundround and round, BUT ARE SEEING NOTHING!!!!!!

well you could perform a recursive design trick. though you need quite some knowledge, insights and experience regarding the ad, cd etc. in order to pull it off. anyways, take the finished design but alter it in a way where you know what is going to moved and/or rotated. after the moved / rotated it back you'll have your original design you started with. or something completely different. hmmm... not so sure about my recursive design trick.

i've got this client right now, a gaggle of stupid office women who don't feel they're getting their money's worth unless they get all the revisions they can possibly milk out of me. WHEN IT WAS PERFECT THE FIRST TIME.
they make me change shit until the original concept isn't even there anymore.

i like rabatcki's approach. i use it from time to time myself. it empowers the egotistical client, while preserving your presumably *good idea.
