This isn't the 1st time I've posted this site but I'm still developing it in between projects.
http://www.perspektiv.co.uk/test…
What I'm trying to acheive is something similar to:
http://www.saltlondon.com/main.p…
the mouse trail nav effect. I was wondering if anyone could put me in the right direction. As you will see mine is a primitive version and looks shit. I would like my mouse trail to change width as well depending where you hover over (whichever section) - like the red band does but on hover over.
Any clues???
Cheers.

you have to ake the mouse trail connstrain to a certain area... once upon a time i could tell you how, but not anymore... go to flashkit or something

use the button functions to set the target width of the dragged square. you can do this with ._width reading the button width where your mouse is. add this factor to your drag function and happy daze!

Thanks for posting guys. I have set the width of the cursor but it was very choppy. I couldn't get it to change smoothly like the red band. Like if it's this width change it to this width.
Also, is there a way to make the red band move more smoothly. It looks jaggered at the moment. Do I need some kind of easing there?

you need to work out the difference between the width at one button and the width at the next. multiply that by a factor such as.75 [play around with the number but needs to be less than one]
and then add the difference to the square as it moves.
Do the same with your x positions. work out the difference between one positions and the next. multiply it by a factor and add that to the squares x position. it will then move and change size somethly!

There are a lot of movie at http://www.flashkit.com that have that rollover effect you want. But you have to sort through them all. Their dB is whacked!

Oh, gl with slider...
- legspin0
I've been trawling through Flash Kit but without success. I know I can adapt the code I'm using for the red slider but not sure where to start.

Have you checked Robert Penners equations for tweening and scaling yet?
They made my life so much easier.
